Shawn Hellums, OD, a Memphis, Tennessee native, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a double major in Biology and Chemistry.  He was a member of the National Honor Society.   

Doctor Hellums received his doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, and completed his externship at Vision America.  Doctor Hellums then opened his private practice in Southaven, Mississippi.  He prides himself on providing comprehensive, leading edge eye care, in a family friendly environment.  His thorough, relaxed chair-side manner sets Doctor Hellums apart from many of his colleagues. As a Doctor of Optometry, part of his commitment to his patients is ongoing professional education.  As technology and the world around us changes, Doctor Hellums strives to keep up-to-date, so that he can provide the best care possible for your eyes.  He has been serving the Southaven community for the past nine years.  Doctor Hellums is a member of the American Optometric Association, Mississippi Optometric Association and  is also a participating optometrist of the InfantSee Program.

In Doctor Hellums' spare time he enjoys riding ATV's and going to the beach with his wife and two daughters.
